Our journey to forever
It all started on a rooftop bar in Athens, 2022. Sophia was there for a conference; Nikos was explaining the superiority of Cretan olive oil to a very confused tourist. She caught his eye mid-argument, and that was that. Six months of long-distance between New York and Athens, a hundred video calls, and one surprise visit later, they both knew this was it. Nikos proposed at sunset on the caldera in Oia — the very place where they would soon say I do.

Main port connecting to Athens (Piraeus), Mykonos and Crete. High-speed ferries take around 5 hours from Piraeus.

Everything you need to know before the big day
What is the dress code?
Smart elegant / cocktail attire. Please avoid wearing white or cream. The venue has outdoor stone terraces — wear comfortable, stable footwear. Stilettos on Oia cobblestones are a recipe for disaster!
How do I get from the airport to Oia?
Santorini Airport (JTR) is about 30 minutes by taxi from Oia. We recommend pre-booking via Agia Irini Taxi (+30 22860 22555). We will arrange a complimentary shuttle for guests on the wedding day — details to follow closer to the date.
Are there hotel options nearby?
Yes! We have pre-arranged group rates at Canaves Oia Suites (the venue hotel) and Mystique Hotel. Mention our names when booking. Book early — August in Santorini fills up extremely fast. Budget-friendly options are also available in Fira, a 20-minute bus ride away.
Can I bring children?
We love your little ones! Children are warmly welcome at the Ceremony and Welcome Dinner. The Reception at Canaves Oia is adults-only (18+) due to the cliff-edge terrace setting. We are happy to recommend local babysitting services in Oia — just ask us.
Is there a gift registry?
Your presence is truly the greatest gift. If you would like to give something, our registry is on this website with a mix of home items and honeymoon experiences. Contributions toward our Maldives honeymoon would mean the world to us!
What currency and useful phrases should I know?
Greece uses the Euro (EUR). Cards are accepted almost everywhere in Santorini. Useful Greek phrases: Yia sas (Hello/Cheers), Efharisto (Thank you), Parakalo (Please / You are welcome), Opa! (Greek all-purpose celebration word). Staff at all our venues speak excellent English.
